Privacy Policy for Black Tides: The Ten Crowns

This Privacy Policy describes how Empyrean Softworks Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you access and use our mobile game, Black Tides: The Ten Crowns, available on the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store, as well as any related online services, software, and content (collectively, the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide the Jarls of Eldheimr with a persistent, secure, and optimized gaming experience.
Information You Provide Directly
Account Identity: We use Firebase Authentication to manage your account. When you sign in via Google Play Games, Apple GameCenter, or Social Login (OAuth), we receive a unique User ID (UID) and your registered Email Address.
No Passwords: We do not collect, see, or store your passwords. Your login credentials remain securely managed by Google or Apple.
Profile Information: We collect your chosen "Jarl Name" and "Clan" selection to display on global leaderboards and in-game profiles.
Communications: If you contact us for support at admin@empyrean-softworks.com, we collect the content of your communications, including questions, feedback, or requests.
User-Generated Content: We collect content you create, such as Tavern Match history (Knucklebones/Halatafl), player profiles, and in-game activity. Please be aware that in-game data may be monitored for safety and compliance with our Terms of Service.
Purchase Information: If you make purchases (e.g., Asgardium), transactions are processed by third-party providers (Apple App Store/Google Play Store). We collect transaction metadata necessary to fulfill your order, but we do not store credit card numbers.
Information We Collect Automatically
Game Progress (Firestore): We collect and store your in-game statistics, including Raid counts, Gold collected, Valor levels, and Tavern Match state. This is required for the Multiplayer Leaderboards and game persistence.
Device Identifiers: We collect unique device identifiers (ADID/IDFA), operating system details, device type, and IP addresses to serve advertisements via Google AdMob and for anti-fraud purposes.
Location Information: We may collect general location information (city/region) derived from your IP address to comply with regional event logic or advertising regulations.
Crash & Performance Data: We collect diagnostic logs via Firebase Crashlytics and Unity tools to identify and fix performance bottlenecks (such as CPU or Renderer spikes).
Information We Collect from Third Parties
Social Media & Platform Providers: We receive information from Google and Apple related to your app downloads, authentication tokens, and platform-specific identifiers.
Advertising Partners: We receive non-personal attribution data from partners like Google AdMob to measure ad performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for various purposes, including:
Provide and Improve Services: To operate village growth, synchronize Tavern matches via Firestore, and develop new gameplay features. (Legal Basis: Contractual performance).
Communication: To send important updates regarding your account or the "Pioneer" seasonal events.
Transactions: To verify your identity during IAP processing and prevent fraud.
Advertising: To provide free access to features through rewarded advertisements. (Legal Basis: Consent/Legitimate interests).
Security: To investigate and prevent cheating, unauthorized database access, or illegal activity.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
Service Providers: Google (Firebase & AdMob), Apple (App Store & GameCenter), and Unity Technologies. These partners are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Other Users: Your Jarl Name, Clan, and stats are visible to others on the global Leaderboards and during Tavern matches.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose information to law enforcement if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Your Rights and Choices
Immediate Account Deletion: You have the "Right to be Forgotten." You may permanently delete your account and all associated Firestore data (Leaderboard rankings and stats) immediately via the "Delete Player Data" button in the in-game Settings menu.
Manual Deletion: Alternatively, email admin@empyrean-softworks.com to request manual deletion within 7 days.
Data Retention: We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you use the in-game "Delete" button, data is wiped immediately.
Advertising Choices: You can opt-out of personalized ads via your device's system settings (iOS "Limit Ad Tracking" or Android "Ads Personalization").
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures, including industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) provided by Firebase, to protect your data during transmission and at rest. Access to the Firestore database is restricted via strict Security Rules to prevent unauthorized access.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover such data exists, it will be deleted immediately.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your residence, including Canada and the United States, where our Firebase servers are located. We use Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data is protected.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA/UK)
If you reside in the EEA or UK, you have the right to Access, Rectify, Erase (Right to be Forgotten), Restrict, and Port your data. You also have the right to object to processing and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Your Rights Under CCPA (California)
California residents have the right to Know what data is collected, Delete their information, Opt-Out of the sale of data (noting that we do not sell data), and the right to Non-Discrimination for exercising these rights.
